Default Grinding from rear when shifting

I have noticed something off about my SS I just got.

2001 SS, auto, traction control, abs, 3.23s

When I bury the gas pedal and then the tranny shifts, right when the tranny shifts I get a grinding noise from the rear end that lasts about a second. At least it sounds like the rear end to me, who knows, could be farther forward.

Except for that grind under hard acceleration shifts, the rear end is silent as could be. No whining, no klunking, no nothing..

Any ideas what it is? Someone mentioned to me that it might be traction control, as they had owned cars in the past where the TC would make all sorts of un godly noises when it activated. I'm new to the TC world and to LS1's, so I have no idea what it is.

If someone could give some suggestions that would be great!

Turn the traction control off and make a run and see if the sound goes away. Bob
