Default bad clutch?

Have a 98 ss pusshin about 400rwh ram 980 clutch billet flywheel. Car was fine till yesturday after I raced my buddy. The clutch shifts fine. But when
im in higher gears per say going 40mph in 4th gear and i accelerate I feel slipping. But off the line or shifting hard from acceleration it feels fine. there
is growling at idle with car running if I press the clutch in a little noise goes away. Any ideas?

Growling is TOB gone bad.

Feel slipping? How? Are you saying that when you floor it, RPM's climb, but car does not move? If so, clutch is slipping, yes.

Well it seems fine normally but lets say in going about 40mph in 4th or 5th
and you floor it about half way the rpms climb quick although it does move
just noticed it wasnt doing it before. I noticed today my master fluid is
black!! What do you think about ls7 clutch for this application?

Definitely sounds like clutch slippage, yes.

Honestly, I am not a fan of "stock" clutches. I know a lot of people use the LS7 with MUCH success, but just not for me though. And of course, since I am a dealer for Monster Clutches, I know how that may seem, but it IS teh truth.

Thank you. Is the monster streetable? Doesnt need to be a stage 3. Just looking for something durable that is street friendly. How much for clutch
kit and can I reuse my billet fly wheel?

Our kits come with a flywheel (and during the sale you get your choice of which) 400 RWHP, you can take a look at our Levels 1, 1.5, 2, and 2.5

The Level 1 series is good for 425 RWHP
The Level 2 series is good for 525 RWHP

Since you are right on the border of teh Level 1, and since they are the same cost, I would look at the Level 2 series, as it allows you to go out and make more power without having to upgrade your clutch again.

And yes, the Monster Clutches are streetable. Levels 1-3 are primarily DD clutches, with 4-6 more track oriented, but still can drive on teh street.

Level 1-3 are our most popular (you don't hear much of guys making much over 700 RWHP on a street car), and I would say teh majority of teh cars on this site are street cars, and fall in that category (levels 1-3).

Any more questions, will be happy to assist.
Thanks
