Default P1416=Air system bank 2...question inside

SES came on this morning, had it scanned and it came out to be code P1416. According to obdii.com..that means AIR system bank 2.

Question is, what do I look for to correct this problem. I have never messed with the AIR system at all on my car. Although, my AIR pump has been known to make some loud noises every now and then when it comes on. I didn't pay attention if it ever came on this morning. But I would think that if the AIR pump itself went out that it would throw the codes for both banks, right or wrong? The guy at AutoZone said he cleared it, but it was back on as soon as I started the car, so I doubt he actually cleared it, forgot to hit the button maybe.

EDIT: Something I forgot to add, the ses came on about 10 minutes into my drive this morning. AIR pump shouldn't be on at that time anyway I wouldn't think.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

After doing some more research, it appears that the most likely cause is a bad passenger side check valve. Supposedly only a 10-12 dollar part. I will change it today or tomorrow to see if that fixes it.

Also....check the pump. Let the motor warm up. Locate the hose running from the pump and squeeze it to check for a pulsation. Have a buddy increase rpm's and check for parallel increase in air flow. If so...pump is good. If not pump is bad. If ok, raise rpm's above 2850 and check to insure ECM/PCM is shutting off the AIR system.

check the fuse, I had this code and it was caused by a blown fuse...I had a amp draw which was running my battery down, several times of starting the car with low amps popped some of my fuses..my amp draw was caused by my window switch being wired direct to battery and not a switched 12v.

Same thing happened to my buddy the other day. I figured the check valve got stuck open. Let us known what the problem was.

Well, I called everywhere in town trying to find the check valve. Going to have to order it from the dealer. Didn't have a chance to do much more investigating as it has been raining since last night here. Thanks for the replies, I'll let everyone know what the outcome is.
