Default How much is safe to space down the K-member (raise the body)???

Like the title says...I'm looking to see how much spacer can safely be used between my UMI K-member and the unibody on my Camaro.

When I install my new engine and larger blower it may be necessary to drop the K-member a little bit for additional hood clearance. I'm not sure how much at this point, if any. Obviously as little as possible is the best method. I'll mock it up without any spacers first and go from there.

I've seen where the Magnacharger(?) guys put 1/4" spacers in between their K-member and the unibody, and also noticed in a recent issue of GMHTP magazine 1/2" spacers were used when a tall deck engine was put in a Camaro.

Thoughts, opinions?

I see you have ARE H/C. I had Rapid Motorsports do my 99 SS several yrs ago and Mikey used Agostino Racing Engines Stage 2 LS1 heads and s split duration 226/234/112 cam. I would like to go with a blower eventually too. Did you start out with the H/C and then add the blower? I was hoping I could just bolt on the blower. What did you do?

Thanks
Brian

I bought the car as it sits, four years ago. Your cam might be ok, although not ideal with the 112LSA.
