Possible outcome of a 346/7 forged LS1 9.0:1 with out meth??
Just getting all my ducks in a row and determining what is and isn't nesscary. So if i were to go on and forged my bottom end (rod and pistons), how high on the boost can I go befor i run in to detonation issues, this is in Los Angeles, CA so 91 octane is about as good as it gets. i know the tune is going to play a major part in this, and also the choice to go MAF or SD...so educate my brothers!

What are your hp goals? And is the car a daily driver. Just by the design of the ls1 style heads I wouldent push more then 20 psi even with arp studs unless they where o ring. but we need more info on the car.As far as detnation is concern tune, pcv, gas is going to play a factor.

My goal is 700RWHP through an M6. I'm not ruling out the meth, I'm just trying to get a better understanding of when it should be used. Its going to be a weekend crusier, occasional PSCA "door slammer" car. I personally want make 700 to the wheels, but only intend to run 500 when driven...I guess its nice to know that you have 700 on tap

oh yeah 700 hp on a 347 can be done,At what psi Im not sure but should be in the 15 psi range depending on the turbo, cam and intake set up. You may need meth on hot days or if your IATs are too high. Never use meth as a band aid to a weak fuel system lol. But I use meth for highway pulls on high boost. I like to ramp it up starting at 10 psi to 14. I also have stg 3 patrot performance heads and arp studs. I had a boost spike to 22 psi and they dident lift or push water hell I almost lost control of the car. I have a exposed intercooler <z28> and my Iats only go into the hunders if I idle for a long time. But crusing I see 80- degrees in mid day when its 100 out and at night its around mid 70's , on meth its in the low 60;s at night when its like 80 degrees out. Car picks up hard on meth.
