Default Do I need to keep my 373's

I have a MS3 cam/5.3 stage 2.5 head car. 3500 stall , LT's, boltons,ls6 intake, and 9 inch rear. Using 15 inch rim with a 26inch Mickey DR

My question is this... Do I need to keep the 370 gears in the rear?.. Would I be better going with a 390 gear for the 1/8th mile tracks I run at or going down to a 342 and let the stall do the work?

I would think I could leave harder with less gear but I may be wrong in that mindset. Some of you Gurus please shed some light on this for me.

Is the car a street car or a drag car how is it launching is it dead hooking or do you have to peddle it already. if the dang thing can take it and you are not spinning and your looking for 1/8th mile times I would step it up till you have to work to get it to hook but with good chassis tuning you still can.

Car see more track time then street time. I have to feather the launches already to hook.

if it's an 1/8 mile car I would go with an even steeper gear than that. 4:56's would do great on a short track. Not so fun for the street though.
