Default T 56 upgrade parts

Are any of the upgrade parts that you get from Tick and places like that installed on factory trans on newer t56 units.

Things like the steel shift fork, bronze pads, billet synro keys.

The reason I ask ios bacause I work at a Dealership and can get good deals on GM stuff if I know what it came out of.

Thanks for any help in advance

Hey Dan, first thing is the newer T56 does have the steel 3-4 shift fork but that is about it. The factory T56 does not have:

Billet keys (stampped steel keys)
bronze fork pads (plastic)

The 3 TR6060 (on C6 Z06) that I overhauled still have PLASTIC fork pads.

I have priced out GM pricing (my cost) and they are still more expensive than Tick or other vendors. For example, the syncro aseembly from GM was $225 my cost but you can get one from Tick for about $125. I have priced out most of the parts in the T56 and they are about double the cost. PM me if you are thinking about upgrading. I have my own special tools for the job.

Well my trans is already apart. I broke 2 of the 3 factory stamped 3-4 keys. So I know that I need to get those. I am just trying to explore all my options before I go out and order parts.

Tick stage II is your best bet. I usually add 5-6 billet keys and bronze fork pads for 5-6 AND reverse since these are not included in the stage II kit. Also, you can flip the reverse syncro if it's worn. Good luck and let me know how it goes.
