Default 10 bolt rearend survivors?

Whats the maximum hp/tq a 10 bolt rearend can hold, without dumping the clutch or hooking to the track?

Ive seen someone on here making 420 rwhp on a stock 10 bolt rearend. Any survivors like that on here willing to testify?

i beat the **** out of mine with no issues, granted its not at the track though.

with my old z28 i had probably 100 1.6x 60fts spraying out of the hole and no problems either, was probably pushing about 450rwhp on the spray.

case by case and trans makes a difference. I've destroyed 2 10-bolts with 354/367 rear wheel. There isn't a go-no-go power level. Sorry.

It is all about the launch.. I am feathering it out of the hole, that is why it is still intact

About 360 whp on mine with 373s and the arp bolts and it's holding up. But I also don't do clutch dump launches, as I am without a clutch.

Not sure of dyno numbers but mine is stout...Mamo ported AFR's, Mamo ported FAST, cam, LT's,4" exhaust and the list goes on. I have put close to 5K miles on this 10 bolt with GM 4.10s on 18x12x26 MT Sportsman SR's. Only about 8 track passes but the car sees constant abuse on the street. I know I am on borrowed time but the rear end is the quietest 10 bolt/4.10/M6 combo I have ever heard.

Take it for what its worth tho, 10 bolts will die, most sooner than later. If U have it in your budget make sure you go 12 bolt/9",ect

Mine had 140,xxx. Its was used and abused. I am putting down something in the area of 370/400. I didnt put to many track passes on it, but a lot of street launches. It broke on me last saturday.

My stock 10-bolt recently took a dump. The car only has the mods in my sig. (est.315-335rwhp). Rear end was fine till the suspension mods and then it started to hook better. Died on the street, was using 275/40 17 Yokohamas, nothing radical.

I also destroyed two ten bolts in my old 1995 Z/28 with stock LT1. On the street both times. Never been to the track, any track ever.

I don't get the question. If your not "hooking" what's the point in having any amount of HP? A 10 bolt will last a long time if there's no clutch dumps or if you don't have any traction.

Mine's still alive, it's not happy, but alive. I haven't taken this car to the track, only once, but I beat the hell out of it on the street. If my tires are hot from doing burnouts around town it hooks hard at times. Granted I'm ready to buy something bigger haha. That's above 500rwtq with an M6. I'd never trust another one though, this one is a freak of nature lol

Mine lived with 420 to the wheels on motor and 550(650tq) on the bottle for 2 years, taking it to the track all the time, 5k launches. It ran perfect until the day I swapped it for the 9".

I think it is safe to say the 10 bolts is not a heavy duty unit. Those running them are rolling the dice and nothing more.
