Default Be careful with EFIlive V6

I just lost the ability to use the EFILive software when I upgraded to V6 on Windows 98.

I could not display the logged data because the size of the charts got screwed up.

Fortunately I have V5 still installed.

They also forgot that some of us dont have Acrobat to read the users manual.

Are you saying you can't load the data, or you need to resize the graphs to fit the screen again?

You can download Acrobat reader for free from www.adobe.com

Could you be specific about what happened. I have V6 on my desktop with XP and my laptop with W98. Both work fine.
As Brains said download Acrobat free.
You can resize the charts.

Hi Bill,

The dashboard layout is stored in the *.vdb files in the VDash directory.
These files should be set correctly on first install. Is it possible that you have ever installed a pre-release beta version of EFILive V6 sometime in the past? If so you need to delete the VDash directory and "repair" the V6 install. You can repair the V6 install by running the V6 install program again and selecting "Repair".

Alternatively, you can right click anywhere on the charts display and select "Dash settings->Autosize charts" to automatically re-adjust the charts to fill the entire screen with no overlaps.

If you want to move or resize any of the charts or gauges manually, you need to "unlock" the dashboard first by right clicking and unchecking "Dash settings->Lock dashboard".

Regards
Paul

"They also forgot that some of us dont have Acrobat to read the users manual."

No they didn't. It's available at EFI's download site.
