Default Tinting tails with film

A guy I work with offered to tint my tails for me for free with some tint he has laying around in his shop. I know it may not stay on long but I thought it would give me some perspective on whether I should VHT them or not when the time comes. My question is, how dark should the tint be? He said he's got quite a bit of different shades, he used to do it for a living, but we weren't sure what the appropriate % would be to use to make them look right. Anybody used the film before, or have an idea on how dark your VHT'd ones would compare to?

Do a light tint, just to make things a little darker. Dont completely black them out
