As said above. Big stall, good cam, fast 90 or 92 intake and throttle body, you didn't mention any exhaust mods so definately long tube headers & true duals. Also suspension setup need to be top notch. Control arms, relocation brackets, torque arm, and for the track remove front swaybar to allow for better weight transfer. Last but not least slicks or et street drag radials. Or you can go with the boltons you have now with a good stall and exhaust and add a 100 shot of NO2 and be there a lot easier and cheaper. Just another option.

thanks for the info guys im planning on a 3600 converter and long tubes and i have really been stuck on the cam choice i had a friend with all that and the best his ever ran on motor was like a 7.80s with heads and ive seen one with cam only go a 7.30 with a 3600 converter and 3.73s .... my main goal is to drive to the track run 7.30s or quicker with stock heads and bottom end n/a just to prove a point to some guys cause i know it can be done once i get it in that range it will be getting sprayed 150-175

in a full weight car your gonna need alot of weight pulled over 400rwhp a rreally good dialed in suspension....beefed up rearend of some sort and alot of verter....and the main mod....seat time.....also add in some nice air and track prep.....
look at the stock internal and cam only list in drag racing results.....theres alot more to it than asking what setup to run....
if i had to pick a setup id say
rearend either put axles in yours or get a 12 bolt
built tranny with a 4000-4200 stall
remove anything from the car it doesnt need to go fast
ported 90/90 setup
cqmshaft???????????custom maybe????
long tubes true duals dumped
all the other bolt ons
and a nice dialed in suspension...
seat time
blah blah blah blah....
good luck

If you get all the suff thats been listed and you pick a healthy cam you won't need much if any weight taken off. Then again if you are willing to take a bunch of weight out you may not even need the cam. Or do both...
