How much power loss by a Knock Sencer reading something?
I had a bolt come out on my a/c compressure and was hitting on the frame But was running like ***... Just thought I would ask, How much could it effect the cars performance?

Would almost in possible for the knock sensor to pick that up the knock sensor is in the motor plus it would have go thru the rubber engine mounts to hear it ... Calibrated to hear ecko's not harmonics

You'd loose tons of power. If anyone see's knock, as in ALOT, they should lift, and not go WOT ever, until the problem is solved. Did you have any knock codes?.... they would be in the PCM if you did. Class A DTC, therefore, you'd have a big bright yellow warning light illuminated saying "HEY DOUCHE,...STOP FLOORING IT OR A SECOND"......
..it is possible to get false knock signals from something like you mentioned but,...the compressor would have had to of been clanking around,...in other words moving quite a bit, coming in direct contact with the motor. You would not make more power.
YOu would have two knock sensor codes...there are two front and back in the valley.
