Default Rebuild Questions

I will be building another motor for the car over the winter. Does anyone one know the limit on boring out our block? I was going to bump it up to a 3.90 bore with forged pistons and Compstar H beam rods as well as some ported heads. And of course a decent cam for the bigger turbo that will go in.

I saw the adapter plate on one of those fiero sites so you could mate like a ls2/etc 4 inch bore motor to our tranny, but it's like $500...

Sounds like the build should be nice. Any horsepower goals? Or E.T. / trap speed goals?

Around 600 to 650 hp shouldn't be a problem. Maybe a low 10 sec pass.

Did some searching, and it looks like boring to 3.90" might be the very max. Found that Wiseco makes some 5.3 pistons and that may be a safer route.
