Default Can I use a Newer GTO shifter on my T56?

I noticed that the GTO T56's come with a different style shifter. I was wondering in this shifter would mount to any T56?

I have a D&D T56 in my 69 Camaro and I'd love to push the shifter back a few inches. Does anyone think the GTO shifter will fit the bill?

Yes.. You'll need to swap the offset lever on the shiftrail (under where the shifter mounts).

It will move the shifter handled back about 3.5 inches.
