Default Best way to go FI... 800 hp

I'm looking to build a new engine and my gool is 800hp (crank hp)
What is the best ruote to go with to reach the power level, Supercharge or Turbo?

For that level, 640 ( A4) or 680 (M6), their are several good supercharger and turbo kits that will make that power. The more important aspect is the prep work to the engine to handle it. There are many vendors that can set you up with a good quality kit.

I'd go with a D1 if you only want 800hp at the crank.

I will have to agree with unit on this one...A Procharged D1 trim putting out around 14# should be right in the ballpark...If you want to spend the extra money you can go with the F trim charger, which will give you some more growing room...
Are you looking to build a stock cubed motor or something bigger?..

and the most important question are you doing a budget build or would any best way work?

my setup is a ls6 382 with paitriot ls6 heads and a blower cam with a d1 at 10psi and i am pushing 678hp with a fuel problem that starts at 5500 that is through a M6, the fuel problem is in the process of getting done(twin in tanks, -8 feed with aftermarket rails, ect) and then i am gunna get it back on the dyno to see how bad that was holding me back and then i may up the boost a little more. you can find used d1 kits anywere from like $2700 used and i have seen some new kits go for $3100.

you can also look at a kentucky turbo kit, I think a 76mm turbo will get you to 800 crank hp without a problem. There is a little more fab work required though.

Thank you Gentlemen’s for the inputs.
I’m not going to use any stock internals, I might go with an FI 427cid motor.
Centrifugal or turbo? Magna is good but can anyone give an input about the performance at higher RPM with the TVS 2300, from what I have seen especially with the TVS 1900 it start to fall at higher RPM where sometimes I need the power. We tried two cars one with Magna TVS 1900 and the other with Paxton and from the role the one with Paxton pulls harder and they were all @ the same boost level. This is our type of racing start from 60 end @ 130~150
Your inputs are highly appreciated.

people have be doing really good with the D1sc(or even the F1 series procharger). With the 427 and FI you are going to really spend some money (just to get that thing complete) so why not just make it a twin turbo. APS with the LG turbo upgrade seems to be putting down some good numbers. It's going to be all on your preference have you ever rode in a sc or turbo car?

on a 427 almost any well matched FI will make over 800 TO THE WHEELS.

If your goal is really 800 at the crank than you might be over building, which isnt a bad thing but it just cost more than what you really need. On a 427 your going to need a bigger turbo or supercharger than you would need on a smaller engine to build boost and still have power in the upper RPM's.

If you go 427 with a turbo thats to small your going to end up in the same boat as having a maggie. Alot of people are making close to 1000 with forged 370's and 88mm turbos, or a forged 347 and a D1SC will give you over 700 to the wheels.

Thank you gentlemen's for the valuable inputs, that’s why I post over here instead of Truck forums.
I'm willing to pay for quality so I don't mind going with the best on the market to same me the headache being no engineering expert.

The first thing came to my mind to keep the truck a daily drive truck, going for shopping, taking my kids to the school and so on so I don't like to use any ruff camshafts even with my old truck I used small lop cam with 416cid supercharged motor.
We are living on hot area and we see 110-125* in the summer so this should be count when building the motor.
I know 800hp is reachable using the 5.3 engine but I'm sure they took the motor very extreme to reach this level, here I don't want to put my self on this situation if there is any problem with the motor. So make it right, strong and can handle the power from first time.

A forged 347 or 370 with a D1 and methanol would be a pretty good build it seems. If your only looking for around 800 crank, with either of the two forged motors and somewhat low boost you will be able to achive what your looking for. I think bob from EPP just posted in another thread a forged 347, D1SC made over 740 rwhp on 16-18ish psi I believe. Methanol should be added with either a turbo or SC setup because of your temps where you live. I believe either of the two motors with decent heads and a good cam/ fuel system with 13ish psi maybe a little more and you will achive what your looking for. Plus you can always run more boost later lol
