Default replacement headliners

The OE headliner in my '96 Z-28 gave up the ghost earlier this year. The cloth started drooping, and all the usual stuff....

I did an extensive search, and wound up going with one of the ABS replacement headliners, as it seemed to be a better way to go.

After some trimming to fit issues, I finally got the piece in place. Well, problem one was somewhat self-inflicted, as I didn't throughly read the instructions, especially the part where they said that there was some velcro included that should be used. I probably didn't dwell on that, because there wasn't any in the box.....

I tried to use the OE "velcro" by transferring it from the old headliner to the new one, but the ABS 'liner, while not all that heavy, IS significantly heavier than the OE cardboard piece. Long story short, I couldn't get the velcro to hold.

I gritted my teeth, and took the headliner out, and re-attached it with a LOT of the 3M trim attaching tape....the stuff used to hold scoops, spoilers, and truck fender flares in place. It held....for about 3-4 weeks.

Anybody else install one of these 'liners? If so, did yours stay tight to the roof, and how did you get it to do so??

Thanks!
