700r4 shifts into od to soon! I have a 700r4 trans that shifts into od to soon!If I leave the shifter in od the trans makes it's last shift at about 40 or 42 mph.My car has a 325 rear gear and a tall tire.I would like it to make it's last shift at about 50 mph. What's the best way to adjust the last shift?At the detent cable or???Thanks for any help.

If all other shifts are where they need to be, you can either shim the 3-4 shift valve spring or install a slightly heavier spring.
The easiest way is to acquire some thin machine screw flat washers to shim the shift spring. One washer should raise the shift point enough.
Take the aluminum shift sleeve and valve assembly with you so can get the correct diameter washer.

You can replace the heavier of the two governor springs with a slighter heavier spring. This will alter mainly the 2-3 and 3-4 shift. B&M, TCI, and Fairbanks sell governor recalibration kits.
