Default Ford GT Rally 2009 - Texas World Speedway, Texas Mile

As requested - here is my album for the coverage I did of the Ford GT Rally 2009 as it came through Texas. They spent one day at Texas World Speedway, then made the trip down to Goliad for an invitational run down the Texas Mile. Top speed of the day was 217 mph, by a Whippled black car, but that was beat the next day by a TT GT that ran 222 mph. Car count was about 90, with the long hauler award going to an owner who shipped his over from Hawaii just for this event. Runners up included owners from Quebec and Ontario.

The Whippled black car is a customer of mine. He got it all back together just before he left. He had no idea it would run that fast. You should see the grin on his face. A few cars ran faster the next day.

I was the first person to see him after that run so I got to see the grin first hand. I was the one that held him up as he wasn't tech'd for 190+ speeds. I was in timing and scoring at the event.

Cool, he mentioned you. I was at his house yesterday cleaning both of his GT's. He told me he got a stern talking to along with a "nice run".

They all passed my jobsite going down 183.

There was a black one that had a plate that read N20 GTR, that thing sounded mean as hell when him and a red with white stripes gt were playing around. Anybody know any specs on the black gt Im talking about?
