Default Need help sizing wheels & tires - 67 chevelle

I'm currently looking for rims and tires for my 67 chevelle.I fitted a 17' x 9.5 rim with a 4 3/4' backspacing, with a nitto 275-50 tire which fits perfect.Up front I fitted a 17' x 7 rim with 4' b.s. with a nitto 225- 50 which sits good but i think i want a taller tire ( and wider ?)on that rim or an 8" rim to level off the car but i'm not sure it will fit.Ideally i would like the rear and front diameters the same but the width to be wider in the rear( to level off the car and to have a spare to fit both the front and rear) . Is this possible? i did some research on the nittos' an a 255-50 seems to be a larger diameter( 27.01" ) than the 225 50 ( 25.95" ) and a closer match to the rear but not sure if it will fit. thanks for your help, JOHN
