Default excessive road noise...

Well I just went and bought new tires as I had a fair amount of road noise comming from the rear of my car since I bought it. I figured since the rear tires were bald and dry rotted that they were the problem but it didnt seem to make a differance... It gets louder when I brake the car but stays constant when accelerating and cruising. Any ideas on what this can be? the car only has 56k on it and seems like it has been taken care of as I bought it over a month ago.

I cant explain it better other then road noise, whirring away while driving. Its getting real annoying
