is this a good deal on TTII's?
I found a set of (4) 17x9.5 TTII's for sale (local). Guy is asking $1500 wheels and tires have approx. 85 miles on them. tires are sumitumo 275/40/17. Is this a good deal or should I keep looking? What would be a fair offer?

It depends. You can buy brand new TT2s from Summit for around $1100. Those Sumitomos are crap with a capital C. Anyone who says otherwise has never spent enough money on a real set of tires to feel the difference.
If you already have tires then this isn't a good deal at all as you'd be better off buying new.
If you don't have tires, $1100-1200 would be more realistic if they really have less than 100 miles on them as you figure the TT2s are worth around $900 used and the tires around $300.
For comparison I bought a set of like new TT2s (2,000 miles on them) with 2,000 mile BFG KDWs for $1100 over the summer.

only thing sumo are good for is a "to get by" tire. in the events that you need tires but cant afford the 300 dollar good ones. keep your eyes peeled and on numerous sites and you can find what he;'s selling for 1K or less.
