Default 900 hp LQ9 6.0 build question

Ok......... I am gonna start yankin the 5.7 aps twin turbo out of my camaro and build the 2005 6.0 lq9 I have....my goal is 900 hp.... My question is ???? Can I do it on the stock crank with just good forged rods and pistons or should I just go with the 408 kit with crank....?? What is the hp limitation of that stock 6.0 crank ?? Thanks

What APS kit do you have, stage 1 or stage 2 extreme ? If you have stage 1 and try for 900 hp, you will fry the turbos. Stage 2 kit is for 402ci up to about 441 ci, its not that much more money wise for a 4 inch crank. You want to do it right the first time. If you have stage 1 kit, you need to get them built the right way, www.lgmotorsports.com >>>>>>>>

Was already. Planning on upgrading the turbos and the fuel system . Crank is 900 more if I wanna upgrade....was told the stock 6.0 crank would take 1000 hp... Didn't wanna spend the x tra 900 on the crank if I didn't have to since the fuel and turbo upgrade is gonna cause a big dent in my wallet as it is .

The stock crank should take 900 flywheel with no problem, my daily driver is just over 100,000 now on a forged 6.0 turbo engine.

NastyTA was flexing his stocker at 1000 HP. As much as you already have invested it might not be a bad idea to go w/ a forged crank. You'll be very close to that level.

I was recently at this point in my build also. I decided that since I was buying new pistons, this would be the best time to also get the stroked crank. If it means your engine build will take a little longer while you work up the extra money, is it that big a deal? I am wanting to make my power on pump gas, with maybe just a test or two on race gas for bragging rights. A 408 will do better for me on pump gas than a smaller engine. Plus I have the confidence of using an aftermarket 4340 forging (CompStar). Good luck with your decision.
