Default which is best?

Hey guys, I am going to have an engine built. I recently purchased a 2000 SS and it has a 2.73 rear and a beefed up t56. Now the question is, which to build...a 370 or a 408? I won't be using the car for any drag racing but I do love blasting down the freeway past 150+. I guess my question to you is which would be better, and which is more cost efficient to build for top speed? I have and ls6 intake and am either looking to get patriot heads or l92's and a victor jr style intake with 90mm tb. please help!

Ls6 intake will not work with L92s. How much money do you plan to spend?
Do you know for sure you have 2.73s? 6 speeds came with 3.42s.
If you want to highway race, 370 and a turbo.
Also, if you do a victor intake, just put a accufab TB on it.

the guy i bought it from put in the 2.73's. he used to have a forged 347 and a ton of spray. I would like to spend 8g's total. I wish I could afford a turbo, but unfortuantely, I am putting my lil sis through college and have a ways to go. I am trying to stay all motor and appreciate any help.

Are you sure they're not 3.73's? 2.73s would be counter productive.

2.73s are not counter productive if he has a powerful motor and wants to hit a higher top speed. Some guys race 2 mile and like to see how high they can get their top speed... Know a couple of guys like this and dont quite understand them... I think i would get bored in a two mile run but whatever. To each their own. When it comes to naturally aspirated top speed... bigger is better... hands down. The 370 will be much cheaper. Its up to you, money or power.
