Default strut brace install?

I just got my umi strut brace because i figured it wouldnt hurt to put one on and it was on sale but my question is when i tighten everything down do i do it while the car is on the ground under load or do i jack it up a bit to take some of the load off of it?

It's not like a swaybar where chassis and control arms/axle positions are different when underload or jacked up. Nor can you have any preload. Just put it on.

I actually had a STB where you could adjust the preload. TPIS made it.

Its a little hard to see, but there are adjustable jam nuts on both ends. I had almost forgotten about good old Tuned Port Induction Specialists. They sell their own LS1 stuff too.
