Default lt1 heads on a .040 305

is it possible to run a set of stock aluminum lt1 heads on a .040 305 bottom end? the combustion chambers are the perfect cc's. i took the spring off 1 of the intake valves, on a set of lt1 heads i had laying around, & set it on the dowels of my buddys bottom end for his 305 sprint car motor, & i can freely move the intake valve in and out. its damn close to the cylinder wall, but it clears. is there any reason these heads would not work? mechanically it seems like theres clearance for everything. what about the reverse flow cooling on the lt1's? would that matter? thanks.

yeah it would work but you need to have them converted to work with a sbc and a port job would not hurt

It can work but it is not cost efficient.
