Question Question on LT1 & LS1 exhaust

Will a cat back from a LT1 fbody work on a LS1 Fbody? I see that there are different headers, true duals, ORY and cat backs for LT1 and LS1, are they really that different?

I have a 98 T/A Vert and will be getting either the Pacesetters or Hooker long tubes and either a ORY into a Cat Back or into a True Dual that dump before the axle.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that the catbacks are the same. LS1 y pipes and headers are different from LT1 systems and I'm pretty sure that the true duals are different too.

`96-97(dual cat) LT1 Catbacks are compatible for LS1's because the Y pipe connection is in the same location. There may be differences in the hangers but I didn't see any when I put an LT1 specific kit on my LS1 many years ago.

It'll work as that's what everybody did back in '98 since there wasn't any LS1 specific cat backs yet. I think the hangers needed to be tweaked a little.
