Default Temp sensor questions?

I am swapping a 5.3 into my 72 Jimmy and keeping my factory gauges.

There has to be a sensor with the 12 X 1.5 threads with the same or close ohms? Anybody know what the ohms reading is for the 72 350 gauge sensor and or any that might work?

I really don't want to use one of the adapters if I don't have to.

Wish I could find the resistance of both?

I am actually looking to put a different one in the passenger head and leaving the factory one for the PCM

Hey TheAlien, was just looking for your sender answer and noticed your already here. Use the 98 sender in the passenger head. You'll only hook up two of the pins on it though. I'll try and get a picture today of which pins. Don't know the resistance though on it. Jim

I am pretty sure the resistance is different. Does anyone know the resistance range of these 2 sensors?

I've got the resistance for my 68 vette from a tech article and I measured the 98 camaro sensor below. They dont match. A 200 ohm resistor in parallel will compensate and get it close.
You'll need to check your sensor.

68 vette sender (info from Willcox)
temp/resistance
220/70
200/90
180/115
160/140
120/250
100/340
98 camaro (I measured this)
192/215
181/272
157/428
135/675
105/1225

Thanks, thats the kind of information I am looking for. I still can't find the resistance values for my 72 but I believe it is pretty high like 900-1000 ohms at one end. It may even work the opposite way resistance increases as temp rises? Still looking
