I just busted out 695 ft lbs on 13 lbs. I blew up a 10 bolt on a 2-3 shift. :bang:

so I'm in the market for a 9". I was looking at getting one from epp. then my buddy was telling me about midwest fab 9". I want something that will allow me to leave of a 2step and hopefully cut a sub 1.6 short time.

my budget is about 2800 max.

so I guess I'm looking for input from guys who are actually running one of these. both compaines have great reps...I like the idea of the fab 9 being lighter, on the other hand it looks like the normal 9" from epp has better axles and diff. selction for my price range.

need some input guys, I have a big ford vs gm shot out coming in mid jan. going have to pull the trigger on one of these soon.

thx!

I got my moser 9inch rear from Bob at EPP last year for $2600 shipped to my door. Its got LCA relocation brakets, drain & fill plugs, 35 spline axles, and 3.89 gears with a locker. I couldn't be more happy with it. Its taken every rev limiter launch with out batting an eye. On motor I cut 1.60 60fts and on the bottle high 1.4's low 1.5's. EPP has the best deals on Moser rears. Not to mention it only took 5 buinsess day to show up at my door step.

i would call midwest performance chassis, i have a moser style 9 inch and wish i went with a midwest fab rear, the fab comes with a torque arm and relocation bracket, factory style brake line brackets well worth the little extra money. anyone want a 9 inch houseing so i can buy a mwc haha.

A nine inch with a spool is only $2300.00 shipped!

A Moser M9 fabricated rear complete with the torque arm and crossmember is only $3000.00 shipped with a spool. It weighs the same as the 10 bolt rear. My car cuts 1.29 60 ft times with it. Bob

I can get you in a rearend that will work for your purpose and be overkill strong as well. works just as well on either street or strip. call me so we can discuss your setup and do it once, spend the money right the first time.

Slightly off topic but what gears would you run. I was thinking of doing a 9" swap too and thought 3.25 gears??

MWC hands down! Why buy a super heavy old style OEM husing with brackets to hold the torque arm?? Buy a MWC ne and get a new torque arm intergraded into it and be done for life!! Heres mine...

depends on goals, I have a 9 inch and 4.56s m6. pick a goal and go crazy:D

I know I would be going 4.56 gears if I was n/a but hear the turbo guys like to run pretty tall gears. Pretty much making 6th gear useless.

5th and 6th are not good for boost. with the right gear/tire I can go 140's and still do 100mph at 2k rpm on the highway. :D
