Default Cam Choices

So I am rebuilding my engine and wanna put in a new cam..I wanna pass emissions so dont need anything drastic, also not wanting to have to reprogram my computer so what would be my best choice? I looked at the LT4 hot cam but have been told the springs and rest are junk...should I just buy the cam and everything else with it seperate..if so what should I get....also was looking at the cc305 and 304....would I need to reprogram the computer with these...or tune them I mean...Let me know please...need to get my car into shop soon...its my daily driver...basically im just trying to get it rebuilt with a bit of performance on it..already have a ported intake and set of headers...car has plenty of suspension work as well...also what do you think, is 1000 for parts in rebuild plus around 1800 for labor a good price? Engine is still in car....please let me know..thanks!

what yr is your car? and is it an Auto or 6spd car?? I went with the Comp XFi 230/236 in my LT1 car when I had it....and it ran pretty good without a tune, just had a odd idle....reason I ask what yr and if its an auto is because I still have the ECU from mine with the tune on it for the cam.....But mine was an Auto and if you wanted to save some cash on a tune I would let my ECU cheap if you wanted to go with a bigger cam...

I am sorry for alate post, but I put a cc502 in a 95 ta with a six speed,it ran great with out a tune, and no cam surge, but it could run better +cleaner if you got a a tune, the car used to chew up ls1s all the time.
