hey i just finished building a 404ci iron block with ARP main & head studs, eagle forged crank & rods, ARP rod bolts, Mahle forged pistons, 9.5:1 comp ratio, Edelbrock pro-port heads CNC'd by West Coast Racing Cylinder Head with a 74cc chaimber. stock 6.0 MLS headgaskets, Patriot dual valvesprings w/ shims on the intake valves. just curious what type of max boost i could run safely (this would only be for dynoshootouts/occasional track use)
this is just a street car btw

15psi with a crappy tune could be to much. 20 psi with a good tune might hold. Every engine is different. While there are some generalities, it comes down to how your engine is built and the tune. The more efficient you can make your engine with regards to getting air into it and out of it, the less boost you have to run for a given RWHP. With my build I am hoping to get the 750-800rwhp I'm looking for for with less than 18psi. If I can't meet that goal I will need to buy new heads, as mine are GM 243's, to get the thicker deck.

Well yes, I understand about the tune and quality of the build. But let's assume it has a great tune and tho motor was built perfectly... I'm really wondering what the components can hold themselves, ie pistons rods headgasket etc.
Oh and btw I'm actually running the new LS9 head gasket

If everything was perfect....then none of the items you mentioned are of concern. Boost is also irrelevant.
What sort of forced induction system will you use, and how much power are you hoping to achieve, what fuel ? etc etc etc...
So once again, there is no answer to yuor question, as there are nowhere near enough details in your question

76mm is way to small for 400+ci I want to run bigger than that in my 347ci.
Is the car M6 or auto?? If its a stalled auto then go 91mm and if M6 i'd go with 88 to spool it a little faster..
About the boost depends on the tune and fule used
