Default Finished my stock Z28 exhaust pipe trim parts.

I could post the details here, but I'll send you to a post about them at the EFILive board:

http://www.efilive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=331

While you are there, look around, if you are not familiar with EFILive

I used the thin aluminum sheet found at most hobby shops and configured the templates for 3 parts that fit on one sheet. It was fun!

It's like what I used to do, put a 1" strip of aluminum tape around the outside, but that was not "permanent", so I am "wrapping' the outside in aluminum sheet - Yea it's apperance, and not "performance", but I like those rectangular pipes and I wanted to accentuate them.

I do need to add this to my "mod' list on my homepage, and I'll also post the template info, too.

If I was really into it I would sand down the tips, spray them with a clear coat and have them shine that way.

The chrome (actually stainless steel) ones have the wrong intake offest - so they are not centered.

No prob to those that don't like, that's cool!
Hey, at least I didn't put chukwagon wheels with skateboard tires on the car! (where's that puking smiley when I need it...)

I originally painted and cleared, but the condensation water is acidic, and eats thru most paints.

It is a tip with a tip - all I really care about is the rear rectangles.

Can't solder aluminum, and there are no overlaps - the top part is tabbed and folded horizontally, and the bottom is doubled only across the bottom for extra protection but the rolled edges are all one layer.

Thanks for comments.

Hey Unit, I think you need some Pepto Bismol
