Those who have had the coil bosses milled off, what did the machine work cost? I have a brand new set of valve covers from GM that I want to remove the coil bosses from and have them milled smooth for chroming. The machine shop quoted me $280 to mill them off and tig weld the holes if needed. This sounds high to me, but I don't have a frame of reference for this type of work.
