gmpartsdirect say 12561211 for cam sensor for ls2, the part number is the same for the ls1, so can i use any ls cam sensor?

No they are different, lol the ls1 cam senor is a lot longer. If you have the LS2 cover with the LS2 timing gear then you want to use the LS2. If you have a ls1 block and cam with the half cut in the back then you want the ls1 sensor for the back of the block.
