Should the old bearing look like this?

Should the old bearing look like this? I'm in the process of doing A4 - M6 swap in my 2000 LS1 Camaro. Pulled my auto out and where I expected to see a bearing, there is what looks like the remains of a bearing race? It has couple cracks and what appears to be 3/4 grinded up halo on the inside.... Is this normal wear for a 55k miles engine? or did the old bearing become FUBAR? Pardon my noobness if this is a dumb question btw
