New guy from IN
I bought a 5.3L out of a 2002 tahoe and im looking to swap it into my 1989 camaro RS. I am going to build the motor before i put it into the car so i am looking to create a parts list. Now, i am on a budget but am willing to splurge when needed. So far my list includes:
02 5.3 Iron Block
228R cam?
Professional Products LS1 Intake
Hawks Third Gen motor mounts
LS1 F-Body front engine accessories
LS1 F-Body oil pan
4L60E OR 700R4??
Third gen swap headers? what brand?
I know i will need to do something with the fuel delivery but i havent gotten that far with the planning yet. Any help with that would be appreciated. The only snag i have ran into so far is that i would want to put a turbo on it in the future. Until i can get the money for the turbo i will want to drive the car though, so its needs to be able to run before the turbo install. I have read a couple threads on turbo LM7 installs into third gen's but im having a little trouble getting started; so first things first is to get the motor built and in. What do some of you experts think??
Any advice and/or experience would be greatly appreciated!
