would the 317 6.0 LQ4 heads be a good head for boost

That really depends on the entire combo. Alot of guys do run those heads on stock short-block LS1's to lower the compression some for a bit of boost. On a forged short-block, which'll be needed for anything serious boost wise, you'd be better off with the LS6's heads or an aftermarket casting head and the appropriate piston/gasket to get the compression where you want it!

for a stock block 317's are good

if i go with the 317's and a good cam with a tune should a get a good gain in power.

depends on what block you are using. i plan on doing a lq block and using the l92 heads as they require a 4" bore. but if using the ls1 block, 317's are a very popular head for fi
