im just about finished installing a 5.3 in my 85 c10. my question is what needs to be done with the tuning? im using the th350 that was in the truck. i have hp tuners. will the truck run without the auto trans wiring hooked to anything? thanks, anthony

It should run fine without the automatic stuff hooked up. Without a VSS, you may have trouble with it wanting to die occasionally when coming to a stop. If it throws codes because of the automatic stuff, just tune it out.

tune the tranny codes out. if you dont have a kick down cable, besure that when you get in to pull it down to 2nd manually, that way the band applies.
