Default Georgia inspections

It is highly likely that I will be returning from overseas to Robins. I have 2 projects that I have to make sure that I can bring back with me to the state. My 01SS is the one that I am worried about at this point. There are no emissions on it.

Do they do a visual inspection?
Do they do a sniffer ck?
Do they allow tint?
What other concerns for a modded vehicle might I run in to?

Thanks

PS- any info on the base would be nice. I am aircraft mx.

Welcome to LS1Tech!

Thanks for the number offer. I would prefer to get responses from those with experience. Our inspections here were horrible. You never know what they will be aiming to fail you for. They just do not do emmissions.....yet.

I may be wrong, but I don't think they do inspections in that area. In Ga there has not been a safety inspection for years. Emissions are tested in the Atlanta metro area due to Atlanta failing federal EPA standards, but they don't apply to the more rural areas. A couple of other larger cities may have to test as well. In areas that do test, OBD2 cars just get a computer test, older ones get the sniffer. They also pressure test the gas cap and do a visual for cats. Any cat should do and long tubes are fine.

Tint darkness is limited in Ga, but enforcement is spotty. My car had limo tint when I bought it and I have yet to be hassled about it in over two years.

As Fbodyfan stated I believe that Atlanta is the only place where you have to get emissions. But I know for fact that we don't in South GA. So I highly doubt that WR will have emissions.

All sounds promising then. It sounds like the worst case scenario is that I will need to get some "cats" for visual purposes.
