Default My IAC is F****D

So with this rain weve had in so cal my IAC decided to take a ****. MY counts are WAY high, the car is running good, but idles like all ****. If im rolling up to a stop sign/light put the clutch in the RPMs have gone all the way up to 3500, and usually hang there, and if they dont go up that high they go to 2K and gradually slow down to 1200, but never down to 900 where its supposed to idle...

what can i do?

Just a couple tiny bolts (screws really) and 1 plug to remove it...then you can thoroughly clean the throttle body before you install a new one.

mine has had somewhat similar symptoms twice in the past. pretty much exactly the same, but not as extreme. first time it was the intake mani gaskets, second time the IAC was missing the o-ring. might wanna swap it with a friends' car before you spend $90 on one.

soak it in some solvent or gas for a day see if that cleans it out.
