Home improvement: Adding on a permanent patio cover
I've got an nice concrete pad that I recently added to my back yard. I want to add on a patio cover. I'm not looking for a pergula, but a solid roof to attach to the existing roof, and not just to the eves.
I built one years ago to the side of a house with a flat wall, but not with two roofs in a corner.
I know that I'll have to attach the new beams to the existing roofing, and up up the roof about 4". So I'll have to rip up the existing roofing, and re-shingle & tar paper. I'm planning on adding lighting and cable TV at the same time. I want an open roof with the beams exposed.
Anyone have some before an after pics of what they did?
