How to find out if an used diff is fine?
I went this morning to the junkyard looking for a used 3.42 front diff, and found a couple.
NOOB question:
Is there a way by turning the shafts to find out if there is something wrong with the part?
I am asking, because I actually turned the shaft that goes to the gear box (not the ones to the wheels), and the right wheel spin way less than the left one.
Just want to know if that is normal.
Thanks experts.

BTW, with right wheel, I meant the right axle shaft of the differential. There are no wheels attached to the differential. The diffs are off the vehicle.
Any help is very appreciated, I am going back to the junk this afternoon or tomorrow morning to do the purchase.
Thanks.

I just found the answer guys! Thanks anyway.
I lifted 4 cars, spined the drive shaft, and always there's a wheel that spins more than the other. So it's normal!
If someone has something to add, please do so ;-)
