lq4 and ls1 swapable parts.
hello
does anyone know if you can put a intake from a ls1 into a lq4 without having to do any modifications?
im putting the lq4 into a 72 caprice so hood clearance may not be an issue.
also if im only looking to get 4-5 horses from an ls1 intake ill prolly pass.
if anyone knows if you can put the ls intake on the lq4 id like to here from somone.
wanted to know if the alternator bracket will fit also.
if it helps my motor came from a 02 silverado.
thanks!!
heres a pic of my car before i tore it apart.

The LQ4 and LQ9 are both LS based engines and I believe they are both running the 317 heads as well. An LS1/LS6 intake will bolt up fine. If you are looking for hood clearance but with minimal cash then the LS1 intake manifold will do. If you can spend $350 on an LS6 manifold then you will see more gains. Depending on your setup you will get around 10-15rwhp.
