Default Mapping Steering Wheel Controls

I understand that on my T/A, the dark blue wire feeding into the HU carries all the signals for the 8 switches on the steering wheel, and different resistors are used to vary the voltage depending upon the switch selected.

I am trying to figure out a way to channel and translate this into commands that can be fed into a laptop. Ideally, I want these to be interpreted as key commands via USB, but if using another port is far easier, I welcome the guidance. Any suggestions out there?
