I have a project to do for school and I need advice on how to build my own strut tower brace from scratch.

Easiest way is to find one on a friends and measure it. Short of that, you'll have to measure side to side, see below (google is your friend), and use an angle guide to figure out the degree of angle for the flat part on the tower relative to the cross bar. It's not simple. If it was, more people would do it.
If you had a jig made, which you don't, you could replicate them all day. Which is what BMR and others do to produce them. Anyways, good luck. I would pick something else, like Sub frame connectors, at least there a little more straightforward, Maybe, but what do I know, really.
