maximum offset??
Hey guys,
Can someone tell me real quick what would be the maximum offset for a set of 10.5 rear wheels and for 9.5 fronts? I DO NOT want my wheels to "stick out" at all. I'm thinking around 55mm rear and 60+ front...? Close or not? Thanks for the help

Re: maximum offset??
OK, here goes.
The stock wheels on a Camaro SS are 17" x 9" with a 50 mm offset (So SLP says) Now the factory wheels look very good in their placement, but could (IMHO) stick maybe a 1/4" to 1/2" further out, to give the illusion of filling the well well out. I am NOT saying to make the wheels stick out of the wheel wells.
So at minimum IF you were going to put 18" x 9.5" wheels up front 50 mm would work great, there would be an extra 1/4" of wheel inside and outside vrs stock, giving a fuller wheel well. Now in back 18" x 10.5" wheels will work perfect with 50 mm offset too.
On my Convertible SS I am running 18" x 9.5" ZO6 replicas up front with a 56 mm offset, the wheels look good, but IMHO would look better if they where about 6 mm or 1/4" further out. In back I am running 18" x 10.5" ZO6 with a 58 mm offset and to get them to look the way I want I am running a 5/16" spacer which is 8 mm. The wheels in back could use even more spacer IMHO, but the lugs won't allow it.
So from personal experience and taste I'd say 50 mm is the MAXIMUM offset to go on a wheel for a Camaro.
Just FYI the Grand Sport 17" x 11" wheel has a 50 mm offset.
