Default Trouble bleeding brake system

Alrighty, well I took all my calipers off to paint them, and ended up having to let the car sit without any front calipers on it for about a month ( had spares for the rear.) I put all the calipers back on it, bled the brakes (furthest to nearest from ABS block) and still had no pedal. I did this 4 times, same result. So I lent the car to a GM tech of mine, had him run an auto bleed on it with a Tech 2. He bled them 3 or 4 times also. Got great pedal then. Started the car up, pulled it out of the bay, and now its back to no pedal. Just like a squish to the floor.

I haven't messed with the car in a while since I've had other stuff goin on, and I was kinda sick of it.

I'm gonna try and bleed them one more time, then start pulling things apart.

Any thoughts on what might be the source of this problem?

Any problems before? Calipers on correctly? (bleeder screw on bottom)...maybe the ABS block or brake cylinder is going bad? Not sure how u would test that though.

calipers are all on right. Absolutely no problems before. It's makin me think about an ABS delete. Though, that would be kinda dumb as I have a 4ch 9" housing.

Any other thoughts? I picked up a used master cylinder off a buddy's parts car, so we'll see if that solves the problem

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder first?

Did you accidently let the master cylinder empty out when the lines were disconnected? Bleeder screw is on top btw. Air rises

It's never been out of the car. I'm gonna try and bleed it by itself, then the whole system again.

I'm not sure, but it might have. I'll be sure to check that out when I get a chance.

Anytime the master runs dry it needs to be bench bled. If you're battling air in the abs system try activating the ABS in a controlled environment and then re-bleed the system.

Also, are you bleeder screws pointing up?
