timing
I have a 93 formula and my husband did a tune up on it replace cap, rotor, distributor and wires. Is the car self timing or do I need to get it timed. And I want to put in fog lights but there is a black cover in the place the lamps would go does that pop off or do I attatch the lights there?

the LT1's have a unique distributor (opti-spark) when its installed theres a one way key way in the camshaft timing gear that connects to the opti-spark via a keyed dowel pin as long as your mechanical timing (timing chain/cam/crank gear sprockets) are at zero, which they should still be being they havent been replaced, then all you need to do is insert the keyed dowel into its place in the timing chain cover, the rest is computer controlled by the ECM
