Anyone paint their hoodscoop?
Wassup y'all, I'm taking the SS into the shop on Monday for some touch up paint for an upcoming car show and I decided to paint the hoodscoop (stinger style). Does anyone have pics of the stinger hoodscoop? It would look just like the Earnhart SS.......TIA <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

BTW, I think it looks great painted. I think you should go for it.

Hey Dave,
How's it going, not sure if this will be of any help but here's a link showing the Earnhart SS http://www.gmmginc.net/html/intimidator_camaro.html . Post some pictures of your ride when you get it done. Later
Al
P.S. Say hi to Bobby for me.

Re: Anyone paint their hoodscoop?
I'd just buy the vinyl version from www.3rdgendecals.com rather than have it painted.
That way if you don't like it after it's installed you can always just peel it off. Or if you do like it, then you can go and get it painted on (if you wanted to).
Just my .02
Good luck!

Re: Anyone paint their hoodscoop?
Hey Dave, the "Stinger" style I think would look best is what Steven has on his......it's just a small stripe that traces the outside of the hood scoop, not the whole thing....and one small stripe that traces the outside of the tail and drops off the sides a little....."stealthy" and classy.....

Re: Anyone paint their hoodscoop?
Thanks for the excellent feedback guys.
00SilverZ That was exactly what I was looking for. I needed to print up a pic to give to my paint guy.
Al I'll have pics of the new paint along with some chrome GS wheels to boot....got me a new look for the upcoming car show.
Blu I like Steve's stripe too, but it might look a little too subtle with Gunmetal Grey on Black. We'll see how it turns out......if it ain't looking like I planned I can always spray it again....... <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Re: Anyone paint their hoodscoop?
Thnaks Wicked 98. The SS went into the shop today and I'll be posting pics when it gets out. I went with 1998 Toyota Quicksilver for the scoop and I'm having the front grille painted and removing the license plate frame as well. Should look a bit better, but I'll let you guys judge for yourselves. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Re: Anyone paint their hoodscoop?
Thanks Rob & 02Z. Those were actually the best upclose pics. I printed them up and took them to the shop this morning. I noticed the stinger scoops in the pics, weren't painted around the ram air duct.......I think I'm gonna have him paint that area though.
