Question Aftermarket Body Parts

Hi Guy's,

I am rebuilding a salvaged Camaro SS and am
wondering if anybody has any experience with the
aftermarket body panels. Mainly the fenders and
front bumper cover. I would prefer to use OEM parts
but if the aftermarket parts are just as good I could
probably be convinced to use them instead.
I have used aftermarket parts in the past and I was
pretty dissapointed with the fit and finish.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

In my experience, Aftermarket fenders and hoods are junk.....They do not hold paint as good and like you said fitment sucks....

would have to agree. The money you save on these parts is eaten up in alignment problems and paint quality. OEM is the way to go

I bought an aftermarket fender for my car. It looked good and fit well. I had the entire car re-painted, after it was painted the aftermarket fender showed waves and looked bad compared to the rest of the car. It bothered me enough that I saved up and bought a GM fender to replace it.

I tried to save some money and ended up spending more that if I had done it right the first time.
