got a question .. so i pulled the shifter off my 2000 ss i was gettin a 4h gear spit out.. took everything completely off everything looked fine except for this plastic fitting that sat inside the rod where the bottom steel piece of the shifter itself fits in , it looked bent and worn down, does anyone know what this plastic piece is? .. just wondering... im a newb btw.

4th spit out? does it pop out of gear after you pull out the clutch? mine does that in 3rd gear sometimes. when i first got the car if would grind like crazy and pop out hard. they said it was the syncro. even now it pops out sometimes when i dont expect it.

does this sound like the same prob? im also a noob.

That's the Shifter Cup..you can upgrade to a Bronze one..that would be alot better.

no mine never pops out of gear once it is engaged... had that problem in my slowbra... it turned out to be a broken tooth on the gear..
